The original shoe shop, owned by Laura and Arthur Edwards, was situated next to Hill's chip shop on Brunswick road ie. second building on the left as you walk from the Cross towards the shopping precinct. Aubrey Williams had the business when Laura Edwards ceased trading following the death of Arthur.

The site on which this shop is situated was originally the site of George Mole's Garage.
