Ted Messham"

Ted was plagued by illness in his boyhood and early youth. I well remember him being wheeled about, flat on his back, for several years, due, I think, to rheumatic fever. His early education was badly interfered with. Although he was a couple of years older than me, I was on the hand of leaving Hawarden County School when Ted started there. It is to his extreme admiration that he gained his BA degree and made his career of passing his knowledge to following generations as a School Master.

It was the effects of T.B. of the hip as a child. - ed.
