SCHOOL CHILDREN GIFTS TO WOUNDED SOLDIERS
On Friday the school children at the Buckley Council Schools, Padeswood-road, were invited by their teachers to bring vegetables, fruit, etc., for the wounded soldiers at Leeswood Hall Hospital. The result exceeded anticipations, nearly every child in the school bringing something. The gifts included potatoes, cabbages, celery, apples, pears, beetroot, carrots, turnips, etc., The total made a large lorry load of produce - evidence of the splendid spirit in which the parents had answered the appeal for help. The goods were kindly conveyed to the hospital by Mr Richard Peters, who supplied both horse and lorry.
