The original Buckley Railway later joined near Old Ewloe Brickworks by the Wrexham, Mold and Connah's Quay Railway. This became the Great Central, then the London and North Eastern Railway Company, then British Rail. This sign was situated near the Old Ewloe Brickworks, and such signs were placed at every road and path crossing.

The branch line from Mountain Colliery crossed Church Road at the level-crossing and joined the old Great Central line near Davison's Top/Etna works - J. Eric Hayes.
