September 1971
We were cleaning specimens of lead pots found at Hancock's Pottery, prior to building development. This pottery was the top feeder of the Sandycroft Tramway system. Dukesfield Close now occupies the site.
The lead pots were used in the manfacturing of white lead, a basic lead carbonate. White lead was used for a variety of purposes in the building and chemical industries.
