I remember an incident involving two Italian prisoners of war. I was walking down Liverpool Road towards the bridge that was there then and overheard them having a disagreement. One of them sent a stinging riposte to the other: "You think I know bugger nothing. Well, you're wrong. I know bugger all!!"
