In 1989, when the Works was run by Butterley, two new products, paving bricks developed at Buckley, were featured in the International Building and Construction Exhibition, Birmingham, between 26th November and 2nd December. At the time, 65 people worked there. Bricks were mainly being supplied for public buildings such as police and fire stations, and hospitals. Butterley had about twenty brickworks throughout the country.
