On Friday evening of June 25th 1993, members of the Buckley and Mold Art Society began its summer outdoor programme with a practical landscape evening in drawing and painting on Knowl Hill, Buckley. Though not a sunny evening, a crisp, cold and flat white light bathed the landscape, accentuating the deep warm shaded areas and picking out the silvery highlights on foliage.

The eastern prospect from the top of the old banks was an artist's panorama, with the Buckley plantation dominating the skyline backdrop.

Members present: Iolanthe Read, Pamela Townsend, Andrew Warr, Rhona Owen, Anthea Wickens, Barbara Harrison, John D. Edwards, Gordon Lovatt, and Joseph I. Chesters.
