One of the new fishing pegs on the Mountain Pool"

Mountain Pool, Higher Common, Buckley

July 2003

The DUWG (North East Wales Wildlife) Autumn 2003 newsletter, "Wildlife Matters", states:

NEW FISHING AT GLOBE POOL AND HIGHER COMMON, BUCKLEY

New and established fishing enthusiasts are now benefiting from new islands, better swims and improved pegs in two of Buckley's popular fishing ponds. Tom Woodall, Senior Ranger says, "With the support of local residents, and help from the BTCV (British Trust for Conservation Volunteers), we have made improvements to the health of pondlife and the water quality with a substantial grant from the Environment Agency. There are also now high quality pegs around both pools that are free and open to anyone who wants to fish." Anyone coming in a car to the Higher Common is asked to use the informal parking area off Park Way. Globe Pool parking is still available at Etna Park.
