TEXT OF A REPORT FOR THE SOCIETY'S END OF SUMMER TERM MEETING
Buckley and Mold Art Society
Summer end of term meeting
On Friday the 26th of June The Buckley and Mold Art Society had as its guest for the evening Mr Jim Williams from Sychdyn - art teacher and artist whose work has been exhibited at the Royal Cambrian Academy of Art.
The programme as planned was to be an outdoor session of drawing on the Top Common, but after a brief discussion concerning elelments in and composition for good landscape work, the secretary Mrs Barbara Harrison asked Mr Joe Chesters did he know anywhere suitable and near to hand.
The evening was spent at the Trap Pool.
Jim Williams demonstrated a technique in monochrome pastel on tinted paper with a contrajour drawing of The Willow side of the Pool. Individual members received personal attention and the whole evening was pleasantly spent in clear and warm sunshine with a deep yellow light carressing the ochre and umber banks on the south side of the water which was slightly ruffled by a hardly discernible breeze.
There were five members present at the end of term meeting.
