HAYES' POTTERY
Ewloe Pottery was called Old Ewloe Pottery. The site was already derelict when I painted this picture. This was one of many kilns built over a period. Ollive Hayes' Pottery was established about 1760, near Saint Matthew's Parish Church. Ollive Hayes was the last owner but his family had made pottery here until closure in the 1940s. The pottery was demolished in 1968.
