Buckley Link Road - garden area outside the former Kwik Save Supermarket"

Windmill Road, Buckley

5 December 1996

The Co-operative had for some years been operating from the former Ames shop on Brunswick Road while Somerfield had been on Precint Way.

In 2009, the Co-operative bought the Somerfield chain of supermarkets for £1.57 bn. In the Autumn of 2009, the Office of Fair Trading had ordered that one of the shops should be sold, along with four others in North Wales. At this time, 60-70 people worked at Somerfield and about 18 at the Co-op. (October 2009)
