AN INDUSTRIAL AND POTTERY WALK ROUND BUCKLEY - NUMBER 36
In the shallow hollow on the left, now the site of the Maxwell estate, was, in the 18th century, a stretch of water known as the Bright Lake. The outlet of this water proceeded south and served a mill near the cricket ground and then proceeded down Brook Street before joining the River Alyn near Padesdwood Cement Works.
At the end of the footpath ,cross Linthorp Road and proceed up Daisy Hill to the commencing post of the walk. Daisy Hill was until recently known as Chapel Walk. In 1818, the first Wesleyan chapel in Buckley was built here. Previously meetings had been held in private houses. This chapel is now a dwelling and hairdressing salon. Many small brick sheds and waste land here were once the area of Hancock's pottery.
