AN INDUSTRIAL AND POTTERY WALK ROUND BUCKLEY - NUMBER 12

Further on is the site of Bartholomew Prescott's pottery. On the right, part of this site was excavated in 1954. Pottery finds are in Chester Museum.

On rough ground east of the Pinfold Site was Benjamin Davies' pottery. No trace of this building remains. During road widening, a kiln site was exposed.

Opposite the Hope and Anchor Public House is a small croft which was a potter's field. In the eighteenth century, Catherall had kilns there. Early eighteenth century, a Mr Wilson established a business known as "Willow Pottery". A single-story, modernised cottage is still called by that name.
