OBITUARY

We have this month the sad duty to record the deaths of Major John Merriman Gibson and Master Eddie Probert, two faithful members of Bistre Church.

Since his advent to Buckley many years ago Major Gibson had taken a keen interest in Bistre Church. For some time he occupied the position of Churchwarden and had upon occasions helped at the Mission Churches. He was never absent from the Sunday Morning service except when illness intervened. He was a man of fine character, strict integrity and a kindly and charitable disposition. His death will leave a blank which will be difficult to fill.

Master Eddie Probert was a faithful Chorister and a member of the Sunday School. He was of a genial disposition, and was liked by all with whom he came in contact. His death cast quite a gloom over the whole parish, and he will be sadly missed by all his friends. We extend our deepest sympathy to both families. We believe that a day will come when we shall be reunited again for ever. May the assurance of this great truth comfort and console the mourners in their sorrows.
