NOTICE.

RULES OF RINGING.

THE "PASSING" BELL.

1.First toll the Tenor Bell for five minutes, allowing the sound to die away between each blow.

2.Then strike each Bell in succession a certain number of times, according to the age and sex. Begin with No. 7, and continue to the Treble.

3.Rule as to age and sex:- 6 strokes on each bell for a Male under 16.

7 strokes on each bell for a Female under 16. 8 Strokes on each bell for a Male over 16. 9 strokes on each bell for a Female over 16.

4.If the deceased be a married Householder, the Tenor Bell is then raised (ie. rung) for 5 minutes.

N.B. - The above rules to be carried out with the chiming apparatus.

SUNDAY SERVICES.

Morning - The Bells shall be raised at 9.55 a.m. and shall be rung from 10 o'clock to 10-12, and after 3 minutes interval, from 10.15 a.m. to 10.22 a.m, when they shall be lowered and the Treble alone rang from 10.25 a.m. until 10.30 a.m.

Evening - The Bells shall be raised at 5.45 p.m, and shall be rung from 5.50 p.m. to 6.12 p.m. and after 3 minutes interval, from 6.15 to 6.22 p.m. when they shall be lowered and the Treble alone rang from 6.25 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

Dec. 25th - Directly midnight has struck, raise Bells and ring until 12.24, dropping them so that the Clock shall strike 12.30 am.

Dec. 31st - Directly 11.30 p.m. has struck, raise bells (half muffled) and ring until 11.50, then drop them, take off the muffles, toll the Tenor until 11.57, silence until 12 strikes, then raise and ring until 12.24, dropping them so that the Clock shall strike 12.30.

RULES FOR HYMN TUNES

1.Select according to service, season, etc.

2.Not more than 2 Hymns before any service.

3.Play 4 verses of each.

4.Let there be quite 2 minutes chiming before beginning a Hymn, also between 2 Hymns, also after the second Hymn before beginning the 5 minutes bell.
