Catching the pit ponies after the week's holiday on the Middle Common to return to work at Mountain Colliery site, opposite Mountain Lane School.

CAPTION TWO

Medieval privileges of pasturage still exist on Buckley Common. Certain animals are still registered and are a feature of the common. An extra tit bit is a reward for this expectant pony.
