A SCHOOL OUTING TO EWLOE CASTLE
As well as being a popular venue on Good Friday for families, Ewloe Castle was popular for school trips. Often, under the supervision of their teacher, the children would explore with delirious rapture the woody dingles of Wepre and climb the perilous heights of the ruined castle. The teacher blows his whistle and sternly orders one of his charges to get from his lofty perch "at once".
