"Thee hit the jack!" is the urgent instruction given on Hawkesbury bowling green. The venerable old Hawkesbury Hall nestles in the background.
My father and mother used to live in Rossett at this time and used to come across on Saturday evening. They enjoyed watching the contestants and my father sometimes was invited to play with a team.
