PADESWOOD WHITE STEPS
Good Friday was often spent at Padeswood White Steps, especially for those families living at Lane End. These consisted of a white painted ladder-style ascending to and crossing the Chester/Denbigh railway line. Here on the grassy field alongside, the Black-Brook families gathered for a picnic lunch. Children explored, chased rabbits and played games. An amorous young lady holds a buttercup under her young man's chin, to testify that the reflection mirrored his love for her.
