19312 May Mount Pleasant Colliery finished working.
24 Dec No. 3 Elm Pit ceased.
19333 Sept Elm chimney felled.
193412 May Elm colliery ceased winding.
19351 June John Smith (3ft. dwarf) died. He was aged 76. 28" high. Coffin 30"
long. He had a normal height son.
193616 June John Summers, Shotton, took possession of "Trap" Brickworks and
started it on Monday 11 May 1936.
1942 18 August New chimney built 80 ft. high.
5 Sept Old Ewloe Pottery (Hayes) closed. G Dyment was potter.
18 October Was 150th Anniversary. "Elfed" (Rev. Elvet Lewis) unveiled plaque at
Chapel. Hawkesbury Hall and grounds sold for £2,500 by Mrs Dobson to B.Y.P.C. Originally built by Jonathan Catherall, 1800.
1944Castle Brickworks took over Parry's Brickworks (from Geo. Lewis
Diary).
