WREXHAM, MOLD AND CONNAH'S QUAY RAILWAY LOCOMOTIVE NUMBER 15 AT BUCKLEY TOWN STATION
The Buckley Railway was opened to traffic on 7th June 1862. It proceeded from Knowle Lane, Buckley to Connah's Quay docks. Two years later, a line was authorised from Wrexham to link up to this line. It was the Wrexham, Mold and Connah's Quay Railway, and opened on the 1st May 1866.
It joined the Buckley Railway at Davison's Old Ewloe Works. At a point half a mile South of this junction, where it passed under Drury lane, a railway station was established, Buckley Junction Station. A passenger service proceeded to Wrexham, but only mineral traffic used the Connah's Quay section.
