The machine is a Priestman Dragline. One of the drivers was Mr Hughes from Mold. Castle Fire Brick Company were allowed to take eight feet of clay from the top of the common in 1960s. It took two or three years to complete. The clay was transported to the Elm Brickworks to make common brick.
