The ground was a lot different then on the common. It was rougher and more overgrown. As time has gone by it has been adopted by the Council, who have made it what it is today, ie. flat grassland. Since the photograph was taken, other properties have been built in surrounding countryside.
Jack Iball used to live at Ivy House. He used to lean on the little wall by the garage, and look out over the common. He was always to me an older man. He used to drive a van for the Green Meadows Laundry which was just across the common from Ivy House.
