HUNTERS' MOON
Strikes and lock-outs in the early part of the last century produced desolate poverty and starvation. Workers poached food from desperation, as the "masters" invariably owned the game. Discovery could result in no employment at all and ostracism at the works.
The two gamekeepers are alert under the hunters' moon but the hunters are even better skilled! Just as well, as, crouching beneath an "adlan", the three men are petrified as two gamekeepers pause and discuss the possible whereabouts of any poachers.
Adlan - hedgerow surrounding fields.
