CHRISTMAS MORNING
True Christmas spirit was recognised when toys were hard earned and money was scarce. Ecstasy at the sudden appearance of simple hand-made toys more than matched the expensive celebrations of today. "How did they get there without our knowledge?" was the ecstatic wonder of the children when they realised that their letters to Santa had
been answered.
The scene is in one of the cottages which existed around the Common, early Twentieth Century.
