Ollive Hayes was Henry Hayes' son.
OLLIVE HAYES, BUCKLEY POTTER
The local potteries consisted of low, stone-walled sheds, with a roof pierced by a sky-light. Under this window would be situated a throwing wheel. Some wheels were kicked in order to revolve them. Others had treadles worked by an assistant, but controlled by the thrower. This scene shows the potter throwing his pot whilst his assistant, the fettler, examines a thrown pot for blemishes.
