Number One Pit at Mount Pleasant Colliery"

Mount Pleasant Colliery, Buckley

1900

From " An Industrial and Pottery Walk round Buckley", which is in the library.

Depicted are the coal and slack shutes. Coal passes from the stage over a sieve. Slack drops into the inner waggon. Lump coal collects in the near waggon. The overhead ramp in the background leads to a slant and day level. Lower levels are worked from the pit shaft.
