FINAL ROUND
On Saturday the final round of a very interesting bowling competition was witnessed on the Bistre Park Avenue ground. The competition had been between the workmen from the firm of Messrs Charles Davison and Co., Ltd. The first prize was won by Mr Joseph Ellis from the Ewloe Barn Works, and the second by Mr Thomas John Messham from the Old Ewloe works. The game was most interesting and quite exciting, the final score reading: Ellis 21, Messham 20.

On Saturday afternoon, Bistre Avenue entertained the Rose and Thistle, and annexed 9 our of 12 wins. The guests, however, made a better show that would at first sight appear, for they only suffered defeat by a margin of 67. (238-171)

BUCKLEY FREE LIBRARY V. BOWLNG GREEN HOTEL, MOLD
This league fixture was played off on the Free Library green on Saturday, when the turf was found to be in bad condition and the ground played very fast. The visitors experienced great difficulty in keeping on the green, the Buckleyites scoring all the tries in the game.

BUCKLEY FREE LIBRARY V. PADESWOOD
Padeswood, the up-to-date champions of the League, still pursue their triumphal march, and on Saturday they managed to get the better of the Free Library at Buckley by a majority of 31. Despite the disadvantage of playing in a strange (singularly strange!) green, the visitors secured eight of the twelve events, the finla score being 234 - 203.

BUCKLEY BOWLING COMPETITION
The second bowling competition between the workmen from the firm of Messrs Charles Davison and Co. Ltd., was played during the past week on the Park-avenue Bowling Club ground. The finalists, who were Mr Tom Messham and Mr Leigh Powell, played their round off on Saturday last. The game finished with Mr Leigh Powell on top with the scores reading Powell 21, Messham 10. Mr Tom Messham was the winner of the last competition.

CHAMPIONS BEATEN AT RHOS
On Saturday the Padeswood Bowling Club, champions of the Flintshire League, visited Rhos (Wrexham) to play off a match at the Rhos Recreation Bowling Club. The game resulted in a vistory for Rhos by a margin of 30 points. Singularly enough the Padeswood's "crack" did not register a single point in his single's game.....

ROSE AND THISTLE BEATEN BY SALTNEY
The Rose and Thistle Club, Buckley, journeyed to saltney on Saturday, for afreindly game with the Saltney Club. The game finished in favour of Saltney, who led by 39 points. Joe Peters, the Buckley fast bowler, did not get on so well with the slow bowling game for heonly registered one point in his match.

This return match was played at Padeswood, on Saturday, and resulted in a win for the Padeswood boys. Last week Rhos won by 30 points but this time Padeswood won by 55 points.

Last week an interesting bowling copetition took place amongst the members of the Free Library Bowling Club. Eight prizes were offered and the winners were: 1. G. A. Williams; 2. Arthur Bellis; 3. Fred Rowlands; 4. John Evans; 5. Thomas Horsfield; 6. Thomas Williams; 7. Samuel Hayes; 8. Edgar Rylott.

FLINTSHIRE BOWLING ASSOCIATION
RESULT OF ANNUAL MERIT COMPETITION
The Flintshire Bowling Association's annual merit competition took place on Saturday, on the ground of the Neston Bowling Club. Two gold medals were offered this year for the two most successful performers. Two Buckley bowlers showed to advantage over their adversaries, and the first prize was won by Mr Thomas Griffiths, Brunswick-road, a member of the Bistre Avenue Club, and the second went to Mr Stephen Stanley, Mold-road, a member of the Padeswood Bowling Club.
THE FREE LIBRARY BOWLING CLUB organised an open bowling competition last week. Valuable prizes were offered and 64 competitors were attracted. The bowling on the whole was very good, and towards the end of the competition, in the fight for top place, some particularly fine work was witnessed. The first prize was ultimately won by the veteran county player, Tom Fox, of Liverpool-road; second place was taken by Joseph Bellis; third by Robert Bellis, and fourth by Norman Croose.
