In late March 2006, several agencies (Flintshire County Council, British Trust for Conservation Volunteers, and Treegeneration - a forestry initiative involving the Forestry Commission Wales, the Countryside Council for Wales and others) organised a week-long tree planting project involving local people and schools on the estate. The project aims were that different generations would become involved in environmental improvements.
